FEV and Advanced Propulsion Technologies have produced a boxer engine on steroids. 4 pistons, 1 cylinder, 1 crankshaft. Based off of the principle of a 2-stroke scavenging it’s designed for large military trucks as a compact and reliable powerplant. The operative word and goal here is torque, not horsepower. However, just imagine one of these in a chopper or bobber. If mounted sideways in the frame, it would make most BMW engines piddle on their centerstands. If mounted lengthwise, it could easily shame the length of a Douglas boxer twin of the 20’s, or the longest production motorcycle to date, the I-4 (Straight 4) Brought Superior.
Besides, Ze German zed it’s bettah!
